Points & Miles Resources

Travel & Credit Card Tools I Actually Use

These are some of my favorite tools, websites, apps, and programs for earning points, finding award flights and hotels, and maximizing my credit card rewards. Whether you're just getting started with points and miles or looking to maximize every point you earn, these resources can help make travel rewards easier to understand and use. I only recommend tools that I personally use, trust, or genuinely believe provide value.

Award Search Tools

Google Flights

Google Flights is one of the best free tools for finding flights and comparing prices across airlines. I always start my flight search on Google Flights so I can see which airlines fly to the destinations I’m checking out and on which dates. It also allows me to explore destinations, track airfare trends, and identify the best travel dates before booking with cash or points. Searching for the cash rate first helps me know if I’m getting a “good deal” if I book with points. I also highly recommend installing the PointsPath Extension to your browser. This free tool will show the points value on flights for some of the airlines through Google Flights!

PointsYeah.com

PointsYeah.com is a FREE award search tool that helps you quickly find flights bookable with points across multiple airline programs. It's one of my favorite ways to uncover award availability without searching each airline individually. It doesn’t cover every single airline but it’s a great place to start and their free version works very well in my opinion.

Roame.travel

Roame is another easy-to-use award search platform that helps you find flights bookable with points and miles. It's one of my favorite tools for beginners because it allows you to quickly search across multiple airline loyalty programs at once to see what's available for your trip.

One feature I particularly like is that Roame searches award availability in real time, which helps reduce the chances of running into "phantom availability", which are flights that appear available but can't actually be booked.

The free version is great for most travelers and makes it easy to explore your options when planning a trip, but, if you travel more frequently or want access to advanced features, the Pro version is worth considering. It includes valuable tools like award alerts, more flexible search options, and SkyView, which allows you to search multiple airports and destinations at the same time to uncover even more redemption opportunities.

I personally use the Roame Pro option and have found it to be a valuable tool for finding award flights and saving time during the search process.

Seats.aero

Seats.aero is a fast and powerful tool for finding award flights using points and miles. It allows you to search award availability across multiple airlines and loyalty programs at once, much like the others, but, it's especially useful for flexible travelers looking to uncover great award deals and premium cabin redemptions that can be difficult to find elsewhere.

Seats.aero does offer a free version, but it is fairly limited and only allows you to search a shorter date range. Since many of the best award flights are released months in advance, frequent travelers will often get more value from the Pro version, which unlocks extended search windows, advanced filters, award alerts, and other powerful tools.

While it has a bit more of a learning curve than some beginner-friendly award search tools, Seats.aero is one of the most powerful resources available for travelers who want to maximize the value of their points and miles.

Airline Websites

Even though search tools are incredibly helpful, I ALWAYS finish my search and book directly on the airlines website. Search tools can be great at helping you find the deals, but you always, ALWAYS, want to verify that the seat you found is actually available before you transfer any points to book it.

Credit Card Rewards Tools

Earning and spending points is only one part of the points and miles game. These are some of my favorite tools for keeping track of all of my credit card benefits. I personally use all of these tools to help me manage my cards, the rewards that come with them, and help me make sure I don't miss out on valuable credits, benefits and perks.

Travel Freely

Travel Freely is a free tool that helps you keep track of your credit cards, sign-up bonuses, and important application dates. It helps you keep everything in one place so you can see when you need to hit a minimum spend by to earn a bonus, track your progress toward earning them, and monitor important dates such as when you’re annual fees are due. It's a great tool for anyone in the points game, and you don’t have to enter any specific credit card details to use the benefits to it’s safe and secure.

Norte

Norte is a tool designed to help you get more value from the credit cards you already have. In addition to tracking your cards credits and benefits, it offers tons of unique feature such as the "Your Coverage" feature which makes it easy to see and compare the purchase protections, extended warranties, travel protections, rental car coverage, and other benefits offered by your credit cards. You can even create a coverage plan when you make a purchase, and it will help you keep important documentation organized just in case you ever need to file a claim!

Norte also offers several helpful tools within the app, such as a points calculator that includes a transfer bonus conversion (that I personally find incredibly helpful), helps you keep track of your cards perks so you don’t miss out on valuable credits, and it helps you quickly understand which card may provide the best protection for a specific purchase or travel situation.

This app also doesn’t require you to enter any specific credit card information so it’s very safe and secure.

Norte is FREE to use with up to 2 cards. If you want the full wallet there's a 7-day free trial, and you can use my affiliate code POINTSAVVYTRAVELER at checkout for 10% off the first year.

CardPointers

CardPointers helps you maximize rewards by showing you which of your credit cards earns the most points, miles, or cash back for every type of purchase. If you have multiple credit cards, it can be difficult to remember which card to use for groceries, dining, gas, travel, online shopping, and other spending categories, and CardPointers makes it easy to choose the right card to earn the most rewards.

My favorite part of using CardPointers though is their browser extension. By adding their browser extension to my phone and computer, when I am shopping online their tool pops up to help me know which card would be best for me to use at that store! PLUS, it helps me load all of my credit card offers to my cards so I don’t miss out on valuable savings. It’s been a huge money saver for me and has allowed me to really take advantage of all of those credit card offers that would easily get missed otherwise.

This tool also doesn’t require you to enter any personal card information so it’s incredibly secure which is something I value.
